Big Ideas For Small Spaces | Lake Oswego

Do you have a tiny living space that you want to maximize?

Small spaces can seem cluttered, no matter how much you try to pare down your belongings to fit.

There are a few easy fixes that don't involve removing walls or building an addition to house your stuff.

More light- whether it's lighter, sheer window coverings to replace dark, light blocking drapes, higher output bulbs in existing fixtures or more light fixtures in the space, a brighter space will look larger.

Lighter Paint- if your space seems dark, even with the addition of more light, maybe it's time to refresh a dark color palette in favor of lighter colors.

Use wall space more effectively- Wall-mounted shelving is a great option to get clutter under control. Whether it's books in the living room, spices in the kitchen or towels and toilet paper in the bathroom, a wall-mounted shelf gives your stuff a place to be and you some room to breath.

Built-ins- if your budget permits, built-ins are an awesome way to make a small place seem much larger. How about a built-in linen storage area with a pocket door? Or a built-in bookshelf for the bibliophile?  Take a look at some ideas on Pinterest!
