DDIY - Load Bearing Walls | Oregon City

Don't Do It Yourself | Oregon City

Somethings are better left to professionals, your remodel may be one of them. If you're uncertain about what walls in your home are load-bearing,  stop, drop the sledgehammer and call a licensed, INSURED general contractor.

If you didn't know already, some walls in your house (called curtain walls) are just there to separate the space into rooms. Other walls, (load bearing) are there to hold your house up.
There's a lot of information online on how to tell the difference between the two, maybe you've reviewed a lot of it. What you may not have reviewed are the many panicked message board posts from people who eschewed hiring a contractor, consulted the internet and removed the wrong wall.
